Leverage Companies is a multi-divisional Real Estate Private Equity firm located in Newark, New Jersey. Across all of our divisions we have a commitment to excellence in real estate private equity: from aggregating a portfolio of commercial multifamily assets, providing financial solutions to both buyers and sellers of real estate, and matching borrowers with lenders in the field of consumer and mortgage lending, we have a commitment to excellence in real estate private equity.
Located in the Historic high-rise office building at 550 Broad Street, we are proud to be firmly rooted in both the town and cultural heritage of Newark, New Jersey. As our business expands throughout the rest of the state and different markets throughout the country, we are thrilled to be headquartered in the Gateway City.
MEET OUR DIRECTORS
David is a seasoned real estate professional and serial entrepreneur. Before starting Leverage Companies & Leverage Holdings, David worked for some of the largest development and private equity companies in the country, including Hampshire and Kayne Anderson. David has been involved in the management of private equity portfolios of over $2 Billion AUM and has personally been involved in thousands of real estate transactions. David is an expert in the syndication of capital and creative financing to assemble deals with unconventional and unique capital structures. He is also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University in their real estate finance department.
DAVID CHOI, Founder & Principal
Eric is an innovative Real Estate Finance professional with an extensive background in capital placement, real estate acquisitions, data analytics and marketing. Prior to founding both Leverage Companies and Leverage Capital Ventures, Eric’s work experience was primarily focused in the real estate hedge fund / private money lending space. Eric has been able to “Leverage” his experience in structuring intricate capital stacks, finding creative solutions to complex problems, and to garner a reputation for himself as a closer and a deal maker.
ERIC PANECKI, Founder & Principal
Randy heads operations at Leverage Companies, bringing his skills as a consummate jack-of-all-trades to the table in each of the company’s divisions to ensure a smooth and successful process for our employees, sellers, and investors alike. Using his years of expertise and experience, he researches investment opportunities and risks inherent in specific sectors to bring investors the best opportunities available on and off the market. Above all else, Randy’s main focus is providing an optimal level of customer service and information to investors and clients.
RANDY VARGAS, Vice President
Anthony oversees Asset Management at Leverage Companies. Anthony graduated from Rutgers Business School with a double major in Finance and Accounting, and a concentration in Real Estate. During and after his time at Rutgers, he worked in numerous positions in Finance and Real Estate, in fields such as Wealth Management and Real Estate Development.
Anthony currently works with Leverage Companies as a Director, where he heads the Finance, Underwriting, and Commercial Real Estate Acquisitions Departments. Anthony has been a part of over 300 Real Estate transactions during his time at Leverage Companies. He is also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University in their real estate finance department.
ANTHONY PONTORIERO, Asset Manager
Sean Shanahan is a seasoned real estate finance professional with over 10 years of experience spanning acquisitions, financing, and private real estate investment vehicles. Prior to Leverage, Sean was the CFO of Iridium Capital where he raised over $170M for commercial acquisitions across the U.S. in private placement vehicles. His extensive knowledge of unique legal and tax structuring has allowed him to be published as an expert commentator in various industry publications. Sean has served as a finance advisor and loan officer for both retail residential mortgages and commercial loans. Sean currently serves as the Director of Investor Relations for Leverage Companies and Underwriter for Brick City Capital.
SEAN SHANAHAN, Investor Relations
